How it works

What happens without roof ventilation?

Summer Heat: Roof space temperatures can reach in excess of 60°, and this heat radiates downwards causing discomfort for your family in your home’s living and sleeping areas. Effective roof ventilation can alleviate this without spending a fortune on cooling costs.

Condensation: During winter and colder months normal household activities can wreak havoc in a roof space and ultimately a roof. Showers, laundry, dishwashing, and cooking all generate moisture which can condense to form up to 12 litres of moisture a day. This can cause damage to your roof timbers, dry rot, and ceiling damage. Moisture-soaked insulation becomes ineffective, and becomes a breeding ground for termites, mould, mildew, fungus, bacteria, and dust mites - all these problems can lead to Sick Building Syndrome!

The Universal Tile Ventilator System and the Smoothline Systems are the only systems which have an inlet vent AND an outlet vent within the roof covering. Year in, year out, for a single one-time outlay, you simply can’t beat these systems for value and performance!

IS YOUR ROOF MAKING YOU SICK??

DO ANY OF THESE SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU??

·Temperature problems – unbearable summer heat??

·Summer and winter condensation problems??

·Excessive cooling and heating costs biting your budget??

·Sick building syndrome??

.Mould problems??

HOW DO THEY WORK

C/bond roofing: 2 outlets are cut, or 2 roof tiles are removed (Where required) to opposing sides of the roof with vents installed to cover the outlets, which allow hot air or moisture to evacuate the roof cavity. This completes the system, an inlet and an outlet, you may require a series of inlets and outlets depending on the size of your roof.

Working on nature and 3 scientific concepts, convection currents, air flow currents, the venturi effect:.

The systems allow free air flow currents to enter either ventilator and hotter stale air to evacuate either ventilator or in winter pushing out the cold stored air to the outside atmosphere, basically equalising ceiling space temperatures with outside temperatures all year round.

HANDLING MOTHER NATURE

As well as working exceptionally well the vents have been constructed with mother nature in mind. Three sides have been aerodynamically tapered so high winds and storm cells will pass over the ventilator making them the best ventilation system in high wind and tropical cyclone areas. The tapering of the ventilator leaves no possibility for debris collection such as leaves, twigs etc. A nice clean almost flush unit only allowing fresh air in and stale moist air out. Conforms to Bushfire Standard AS3959-2009.

LET YOUR HOUSE BREATHE

Natural ventilation is the best way to achieve proper effective roof ventilation.

The systems have no moving parts, use no energy and require no maintenance Ever. And are Powered only by nature.

proper ventilation will enhance the comfort and indoor air quality of the home to help keep the occupants breathing safely. A quality ventilation system also contributes to preserving the structural integrity of the home, reducing maintenance costs

Air-conditioning and heating costs are significantly reduced

The rules of roof ventilation although misunderstood are quite basic,Air in, Air out

Why Whirlybirds Don’t work

You may be more familiar with the ‘whirly bird’ method of roof ventilation.

Whirly vents have moving parts that wear out, and a number of static vents that protrude above the roof line making them obtrusive and quite unattractive. A whirlybird system also needs eave vents to induce airflow.

If you have home insulation to the mandatory Australian Standards, it will block any air from the eaves entering the roof space, as the insulation sits on the ceiling and extends to the roof tiles allowing no air flow to the roof space from the eaves – this makes eave vents ineffective and all these ventilation products in the roof space useless.

So, eave vents do not work, whirlybirds do not work, and all other static vents and fans do not work WITHOUT induced air.

Don't be a sucker for a solar fan either - when the sun goes down, they go down. Our hot Sunshine Coast nights are when you need roof ventilation the most - when you are trying to sleep!

Testimonials

“In January 2021 we had two vent systems installed onto the roof of our sunshine coast house by Shayne Baker.  Our roof space (attic) is dedicated as a long-term storage area, it was however an extremely hot space, this caused deterioration of certain items in storage including photographs and plastics. As Shayne was already doing gutter and roof maintenance works for us, we asked him to install 2 whirlybird roof vents.  Shayne introduced me to another option and explained in detail how his unique roof vents worked, we’ve used whirlybirds previously and weren’t that impressed with results so decided to give Shayne's vents a go. The end result was amazing, the roof space area was dramatically cooler and we now store sensitive items including photographs and guitars in the space without any concern.  The airflow is especially noticeable when the access door is opened, a funnel effect occurs.  Installation was quick, easy and over the next few months we had lots of rain which demonstrated the vents to be sound in all weather conditions.

We highly recommend these roof vents, undoubtedly superior to others we have had installed previously.”

“We had Shayne install a new roof for us…. He is an amazing roofer and offered us some roof vents to augment our ceiling space.

We were attracted by the premise that these vents have won the new inventors prize in the past.  They are low line, unobtrusive and effective. Attractive when compared to the current market alternatives.

The effect of cooling the ceiling space during the hottest days of the year is profound. The space stays dry and is also open to the prevailing breezes.  The effect is noticeable and appreciated. The Smoothline ventilator works a treat.

We can recommend Shayne and the Smoothline roof ventilator in the highest order.”

“Fantastic invention! Highly recommend, it has made a noticeable difference in the reduction of heat in our home and we are using the air con less.  These vents definitely do what they were described to do!

The whole purchase and installation process was professional, prompt, easy and finished meticulously.  I’ve even installed them in my rental property as I was that amazed with the quality and performance.

The slim line finish also made it possible for solar panels to be fitted over them maximising the amount of panels that could be installed on my roof.  The slim line finish isn’t an eyesore either, they blend in with your roof as they are powder coated to match the roof colour with an added bonus fitting below Solar Panels.

Totally exceeded my expectations and have no hesitation in recommending this product.”
